One thing you can be sure of is that hard drives eventually fail, that's why it very important to back up (make a copy) of all your Important files regularly (Documents, Photo's, Music, Email). So the day you turn the computer on and it won't start, starts very slowly or you start getting missing files and folders, this could possibly be a sign of a failing or corrupted drive. The most important thing to do in this situation is not to continue using the computer, because once files are overwritten they are a lot more difficult to recover if at all. Setup a secure wireless network in your home using secure settings so nobody else can get at your files or internet connection, this includes setting up a network for up to two computers and set up broadband, printer and file sharing. This is using your own wireless router. £45
